Pivotry Consulting Group Inc. ("Pivotry")
Last Modified Date: October 20, 2008Pivotry is a consulting company created and staffed by engineers who have worked in high tech companies. Our core capabilities are in process interventions (we work with customers to identify and develop practical implementation methods and processes through all stages of the product life cycle - prototyping, qualification, manufacturing ramp and yield improvements) and the professional/technical development of engineering teams (we use toolkits, workshops, podcasts and handbooks to improve staff performance). We have experience in areas that include: semiconductor wafer fabrication for chip factories and process equipment vendors; thin-film head wafer fabrication for magneto-resistive disk-drives; optoelectronic laser modules and components packaging for telecommunications; multi-chip-module laser packaging for space and avionics applications; and printed circuit assemblies and chip-on-board devices for commercial electronics.
This privacy policy (the "Policy") applies uniquely to personal information (information about an identifiable individual) that Pivotry collects through its website (respectively, "Personal Information" and the "Website"). Pivotry respects and is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use the Website and this Policy describes our collection, use, sharing and protection of Personal Information. We hope that this disclosure will help increase your confidence in using and enhance your experience on the Website.
1. Consent
By using the Website, you are consenting to the Personal Information practices described in this Policy and at the time and point of collection on the Website. As the Website is operated out of Ontario, Canada, by providing your Personal Information, you are agreeing to its transfer to and storage in Ontario for the purposes described at the time and point of collection. You may withdraw your consent to our use of your Personal Information for a particular purpose by emailing us at info@pivotryconsulting.com , although we can only cease using your Personal Information for that purpose from the date we process your instructions and may be required by law to retain your Personal Information for a period.
Pivotry will regularly review the Policy to ensure that it always reflects our Personal Information management practices and remains in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and technologies as they change. Pivotry reserves the right to change the Policy at any time. The version of the Policy posted on the Website will be current as of the "Last modified date" set out above. Pivotry does not collect Personal Information indirectly from third parties. For clarity, if you submit Personal Information through the Website, you are agreeing to its use and disclosure in accordance with the Policy and the notice provided at the time and point of collection. The purpose for which we will use your Personal Information will be identified at the time and point of collection. For example, if you want to obtain information from us, Pivotry will ask you for your first and last name, email address and a description of the information for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.
Pivotry will not disclose your Personal Information except where the disclosure:
1. is permitted or required by law (for example, to an investigative body where there are reasonable grounds to believe the information relates to a breach of an agreement or the law);
2. is required to provide you with a service that you have requested, after the recipients of the information have been identified to you;

We use aggregate information we gather to better design the Website. This information, which we strip so that it does not identify individual users, supplies us with a broad picture of how the Website is being used in order to help us manage our systems and better serve you.

4. What about Practices of Linked Websites?
Pivotry is not responsible for the privacy practices that apply to websites to which the Website provides links. We encourage you to read the privacy policies and terms of use of each and every website that you use.
5. How do we use Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file sent from a Web server and placed on your computer's hard drive. A cookie is generally used to enhance your browsing experience. Cookies used by Pivotry, do not give us access to anything on your hard drive and cannot do anything to your computer. Cookies used by Pivotry are encrypted for security purposes to make any information in the cookie unreadable to anyone outside of Pivotry. We use two types of cookies: session cookies (temporary) or persistent cookies (longer-term continuing use).
- Session cookies may be used to support on-line feedback/discussion, forms and registration and 'e-commerce/shopping cart' transactions. They are used only during your online session and expire when you close your browser. Without session cookies, moving around the Website could be much slower.
- Persistent cookies are stored on your computer's hard drive for some length of time. They are usually used if you want us to remember information about your preferences and passwords for automatic log-in purposes.
